OREM, Utah (April 05, 2001) MyComputer.com, the leading application service provider of Web analytics and Web site management tools, today announced it has shifted to a subscription-only based business model and has phased out its advertising-supported free services.
MyComputer.com launched its professional product subscriptions 17 months ago and has earned a loyal subscriber base of more than 14,000 paying subscribers in that time frame. Since then, it has aggressively focused its efforts on serving the online goals of enterprise companies with Web sites generating millions of page views per month.
"Since launching our subscription-based services in late 1999, we have built up a solid base of corporate customers, including such companies as Novell and eBay (among others)," said Josh James, chief executive officer of MyComputer.com. "These companies, along with many others, have helped to establish MyComputer.com as the leading provider of real-time, enterprise level Web analytics."
While converting advertising-supported users to paying subscribers in March 2001 alone, MyComputer.com increased sales by 475 percent and more than tripled the number of new yearlong subscriptions. "In April 2001, we believe the company is again poised to convert thousands of formerly free subscribers to its professional Web analytics and Web site management products," James said.
"Outsourcing tasks such as Web traffic analysis to an ASP like MyComputer.com gives Novell the Web site metrics we need without tapping, or otherwise distracting from, our own production and development resources," said Kevin Millecam, web information architect at Novell. "The emphasis on professional focus, in addition to the fact that Web sites run by companies like Novell have become very complex, makes the turnkey services offered by MyComputer.com very attractive to webmasters responsible for enterprise-level Web sites."
MyComputer.com's flagship Web analytics service, SuperStats, is being sold by an Enterprise sales team, as well as online. Enterprise services start as low as $2,500 per year and can run up to $300,000 per year, depending on the amount of traffic (or visitors) a site generates. SuperStats services are designed to monitor and analyze Web site traffic, increase understanding of crucial Web business metrics, and improve a company's return from their online investment.
